It's a wonderful Saturday here in Coatesville today. The temperature is 32 degrees and it's snowing. It's a great day to craft for me... sitting in front of the window watching the snow flakes fall upon the ground, the trees and the street.
I am participating in my first swap of 2013 ... LSH is hosting an altered valentine's trinket balsa/wooden box. Well.. in an effort to get a "jump" on the projects I'm lining up for myself, I have completed the box...
Recipe:
- wooden box ($1.00) from Michaels
- Paper scraps
- Ribbon scraps
- heart rope pearls, butterfly embellishment
- French sentiments
- spools
I painted the box with gesso first and then water color red mixed with mod podge glossy, inside and outside. I cut scraps down to size to fit inside the recesses of the box and on the top and underside. I added 4 spools for legs under the box. Wrapping the lace first, then the braided ribbon and heart rope pearls around the box. I also added the rope heart pearls around the top of the box accenting the butterfly embellishment. Once that was all done, I added french sentiments to the finished box with a butterfly embellishment.
The entire box too about 1 hour to finish (not accounting for drying time).
This was a fun box to create. Now on to the card to send with it and some goodies to include inside the box.
Snowy and Warm Regards,
Qadirah
